Angels Werked the Runway Today

If you know me, one thing you know is I like all things that have to do with glitz and glamour and the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show housed that and more! The show was today, but it won't air on CBS until December 10th so I will have to curve my excitement until then. In the meantime I did get my hands on a few photos, compliments of Victoria Secret and Danielle Bernstein (weworewhat.com) whom attended the event. The "Angels," worked the runway to the tune of Taylor Swift which was the chosen artist to perform at the fashion show this year. The show has created such a large buzz today, and with good reason I'm sure. My expectations for the show are high (as they usually are).  But I can honestly say VS has yet to disappoint me when it comes to showcasing their barely-there transcending lingerie. Enjoy!

Victoria's Secret going 3-D??

I'm a firm believe in making fashion as artistic and unique as possible. And I mean why not? It's an expression of one's self right? So when I came across this 3-D corseted piece by Victoria's Secret I was in awe. Leave it to the manufacturers of everything heavenly and sensual to create a sumptuous wearable piece of art such as this. The inspiration for the use of this technique actually comes from Haute Couture but the first designer to actually create a wearable 3-D piece was Dutch Designer Iris Van Herpen. So I wouldn't necessarily call the use of 3-D designs, in relations to a garment, as a new practice; but it is quite revolutionary for a mainstream brand to implement it. And what better time to reveal this corseted number covered in Swarovski Crystal's than at their fashion show on November 13th. I'm more than excited to see this wearable structure hit the runway! Indian Summer

Hello Fashionista's!

If you have ever clicked on the portfolio tab of my blog you would find my website that features the photo shoots that I have styled. My latest photo shoot is now up! The title of this shoot is Indian Summer and blends warm tones and cool tones together, but my favorite detail is that it features a vintage Vogue Magazine from 1940's. I'm not big on vintage clothes, but vintage publications or home decor and I swoon! I hope you love the photos; I had a fabulous team to work with! Here is a sneak peak! You can see the full spread on my website. www.kristenlee-fashionstylist.com

Haute in Paris

Summer marks my favorite time of year for three reasons:

  1. Summer fashion
  2. Sunshine
  3. COUTURE
Seeing as I am from California, it's no surprise that I love the Sun. If I could have Summer ten months out of the year and Fall the remaining of the year so I can where chunky sweaters and riding boots I would; but clearly mother nature doesn't share my sentiment for the seasons. Nonetheless, this post isn't about Summer or the seasons, it is about a much celebrated and strong tradition that lives within some of the oldest European fashion houses around, and that is Haute Couture. I have the biggest appreciation for couture, more-so than RTW, because it is full of passion, creativity, workmanship and legacy. For me, couture, reflects the true creativity and oldest traditions of that fashion house and it knows no limits and breaks through boundaries to deliver something so special. My favorite part of the show is the end, when the designer sends out the last model in what many interpret as the most important piece, the wedding dress. So as a tribute to my favorite couture designers, that keep the city of lights shining bright for all the hopefuls and Parisian's whom one day dream to be apart of this world of decadence  I have picked one look (which was extremely difficult) along with their closing wedding dress to celebrate fashion in its most artistic form, couture.

What we have all been waiting for....

Finally the long wait is over, H&M is set to open up shop online in August in the states. News reached my eyes this morning via @theglamnetwork on twitter when they posed the question to @hm regarding the launch date for the online store. Lets all cross our fingers that their heavily anticipated plans come to fruition so we can all indulge in the endless hours of online shopping with one of the biggest fashion brands in the world. The angst we feel when we find that perfect dress to wear to our cousin’s wedding or that LBD for work, but we can’t seem to locate it anywhere at our local H&M, will cease to exist come August because any and all must-have pieces will be merely a click away.  H&M hasn’t revealed an actual date that the online shop will be open for business, but lets hope their serves are backed up something fierce because the online traffic will be heavy and ever-so rewarding.
